Hey there Joanne and welcome to planDisney. I understand your issue. We have so many Disney Bands (MagicBands) from the past 10 years that many no longer fit our children. Some of them they love and are now souvenirs instead of usable park accessories.
The best solution is to purchase a new DisneyBand (MagicBand or MagicBand+). The batteries in MagicBands tend to last about 24 months. Some may last longer but in general, two years is the lifespan. That has now changed with DisneyBand (MagicBand+) which holds a rechargeable battery. I suggest you peruse the merchandise locations once you arrive to find a new DisneyBand (MagicBand) or even design one at the "MADE" locations such as the one in the
Tomorrowland Launch Depot in Magic Kingdom Park and the
Marketplace Co-Op - D-Tech On Demand store at Disney Springs.
planDisney Pro Tip: If you have a smart device (phone watch) you can create a
Disney MagicMoble pass. This will allow you to leave the DisneyBand (MagicBand) at home and not worry about purchasing a new one. In the United States, we have sites like Etsy and eBay where you can buy a replacement band or a holder for the center part of the DisneyBand (MagicBand) called the icon. If you can remove the icon and buy a new holder you may not need to purchase a new DisneyBand (Magicband). Even with this option, due to the age of the DisneyBand (MagicBand), I recommend you purchase a new one.
Joanne, I hope this information helps you. Please feel free to stop by again and
write me back directly for more Disney vacation planning tips.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
