my daughter has a magic band from a school trip several years ago. she still has the band with her name in it. she will be traveling with me and I am managing her profile in my account now. Can we link this prior band of hers to her again?

Hey there, Elisabeth! Welcome to planDisney, where it would be my pleasure to help you make plans for your next Walt Disney World vacation! A MagicBand is one of my very favorite pieces of Disney flair! With this extraordinary device on your wrist, there is nothing you cannot do while on a Disney vacation! Plus, it can serve as a special accessory and souvenir. What could be better?

MagicBands, once linked to an individual, remain linked to your profile until they are removed. If you log into My Disney Experience, navigate to “My MagicBands and Cards,” you should be able to see each MagicBand linked to your daughter’s profile. You can see which band is the one in question by comparing the ID number on the back with the ones listed. MagicBands do have a battery inside them, and it usually has a lifespan of 3-4 years. Batteries are not able to be replaced. Should your daughter want a new MagicBand at any time, you can easily purchase them online at ShopDisney.com or in most Walt Disney World merchandise stores! You would add the new band to her account by following the steps above!

Elisabeth, I hope that this information helps you continue to make plans for your special mother-daughter travels! Here at planDisney, we would love to help with any part of your vacation plans, so do not hesitate to come back and see us again anytime!

    Wishing you many magical memories,

    Clara
