my daughter has a magic band under my account for when she was a child. She is now and adult, can I transfer the band to her own accoutn

    Hi Jacqueline, welcome to planDisney!

I know Peter Pan tells us to "Never grow up," but I think there is something very satisfying about seeing children mature in the magic. My oldest is a tween and is counting down the days until she can have her very own My Disney Experience account. I hope her love of thrills and Disney storytelling keep her coming back to Walt Disney World Resort for many more years - with and eventually without me.

Congrats on raising your daughter in the magic and thank you for explaining your situation so clearly. I understand that your daughter currently has a MagicBand linked to a My Disney Experience account profile managed by your account. I also understand that your daughter now has her own My Disney Experience account. Complete these steps to transfer any remaining vacation entitlements (including her MagicBand) in your account to hers:

    1. Click "Update" next to your daughter's name on your Family & Friends list in My Disney Experience. In case you're also connected to her separate account, make sure you are selecting the profile that has the words "Plans managed by me" next to it.
    2. Click "Share planning with [daughter's first name,]" which appears in blue letters in the upper right-hand corner of the Update Information box.
    3. Enter the email address associated with your daughter's My Disney Experience account and click "Continue." This prompts your daughter to receive an email invitation to connect. You will receive an email once your daughter accepts the invitation; at this point, all of the vacation entitlements housed in your account (including her MagicBand) automagically transfer to her account. You will remain connected as Family & Friends, which means you can continue to view and make plans for each other as your account's privacy settings allow.
Kindly note that MagicBands linked over two years ago should still work for theme park and Lightning Lane entry, but they may not have the right kind of battery life left to link attraction photos to your daughter's My Disney Experience account. If attraction photos and videos are important to your daughter, please make sure she enables Bluetooth permissions for the My Disney Experience mobile app during her visit.

When you and your daughter are ready to plan a mother/daughter Disney trip, Jacqueline, planDisney is here to help!
