My daughter loves Snow White and the dwarfs but is terrified of the evil queen. We were thinking of doing the character dining at the Wilderness Lodge. How visible is the queen? Would we be able to avoid her? Also, is this meal only available at dinner?

Hi, Jim!  Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I am so excited to hEAR that you are looking into Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White!  This character dining experience, found at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, is offered only for dinner, and it has quickly become one of my family's favorites!  We experienced Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White for the first time last summer.  My husband loved his prime rib so much that he specifically requested that we make another reservation for our trip that took place last month.  I'm happy to tell you that the prime rib was just as delicious the second time we visited!

In addition to the top-notch menu, Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White also offers some fun and unique character interactions.  Snow White, Grumpy, and Dopey will visit you at your table while you are enjoying your meal.  Then once you have finished eating, The Queen will summon you to come to meet with her in the center of the restaurant.  If all or part of your family would rather not visit with The Queen after dinner, that is perfectly fine.

The area where The Queen meets with guests is located in the center of the restaurant, away from the tables.  Some of the more centrally located dining tables may have a view of The Queen from afar, but if you are seated toward the sides of the restaurant, you will not be able to see her majesty at all.  When The Queen arrives in the dining room, she does walk through the center of the restaurant, making her grand entrance.  However, she keeps her distance from the tables, so your daughter shouldn't have to worry about being too close to The Queen at any point during your dinner.

If your daughter is unsure about The Queen, I think it would be fairly easy for you to avoid her during Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White.  I would definitely recommend that your family tries this enchanting character dining experience!  If we can help you with any other aspect of planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, please visit us again.

    Have a magical day!
