Why hello Gina,
Welcome to planDisney! October is one of my most favorite times to visit Walt Disney World Resort. The weather is usually perfect, and getting to see the Halloween decorations is always a treat. I would highly suggest getting tickets for the
Halloween-themed After Hours Event when the tickets come out. You and your entire family can wear your Halloween costumes, trick-or-treat through Magic Kingdom Park, and enjoy smaller crowds. My family and I have done either the Halloween or
Holiday After Hours event every year and always have the best time.
Your daughter has excellent taste; Aurora is such an amazing Disney Princess. Unfortunately, due to the residual effects of Maleficent’s sleeping curse, Aurora spends a lot of time sleeping. At this time, she is not currently available for any of the Walt Disney World character dining experiences. That, of course, could change in October as Walt Disney World Resort continues its re-opening process. I would watch
Disney Parks Blog to see if experiences such as
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at EPCOT and
Disney Perfectly Princess Tea become available by October. Aurora is known to awaken from her slumber and appear in both places.
There may also be rare sightings of Aurora at this time at EPCOT near the France Pavillion or on a Disney Princess cavalcade at Magic Kingdom Park. You can check your
My Disney Experience mobile app the day of your trip to see potential availability for your trip time. I also recommend talking to a Cast Member when you get to the theme parks sometimes; they can give you a little insight into Aurora’s sleeping schedule for the day. If you aren’t able to catch a glimpse of our favorite snoozing princess, you may be able to see some of her friends and foes. At the After Hours party, I discussed earlier, you can usually spot Maleficent in her dragon form spitting fire into the night.
I’m so sorry I can’t provide a more definitive answer for you at this time. I hope that all the rest that Aurora has gotten lately is in preparation for her resurgence soon.
Have the Most Magical Day, and please reach back out if I can help you with anything else.
Happy Planning!
Ashley F.
