Hi ya Richard!
I’m so excited to hEAR about your future visit to
Walt Disney World Resort! You have brought your question to the right place. My 5-year old is dairy-free and now that he is older, we are learning how to find options for him while visiting the parks!
You will be happy to hEAR that Disney has, chefs and special-diet-trained Cast Members at food and beverage locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, to ensure your special dietary needs are taken care of. The team focuses on
Special Dietary Requests so that everyone can enjoy the many different delicious food offerings available. Just make sure to ask a Cast Member at each dining location about the lactose free options. Typically, a special-diet-trained Cast Member will then chat with you or provide you with a allergy-friendly menu.
If you want to plan ahead, you can even contact a Cast Member at the Special Dietary team via email at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com to ask about the tentative restaurants you have in mind. Be sure to include that you are looking for lactose free options. The Cast Member can then provide you with information regarding the specific restaurant choices you are debating and if those restaurants do in fact have lactose free options. This can help you plan your itinerary before you arrive, as well as guarantees a spot you know will provide the accommodations your daughter needs!
Now as far as ice cream options,
Aloha Isle has the infamous Dole Whip. This is my son's favorite and it is dairy free! There are other non-dairy treats including Tofutti and Rice Dream at
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop and
The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor! You can also always ask, wherever ice cream is sold, if they have any available lactose free options.
Hakuna Matata, there will be plenty for her to enjoy and there’s always a Cast Member to ensure she can!
