Erin Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

My 15 yo daughter has Juvenille Diabetes and Juvenille RA. She has difficulty standing for long periods of time. Is there any assistance available and if so, what type of documentation do I need? Is just a letter from the doctor enough? Thanks!

    Hi Erin!

I've found some wonderful and creative ideas for making the most out of your daughter's Disney Day with these great unofficial resources for travel planning: www.Mouse-Aid.com and the book by Passporter called "Open Mouse".

During your vacation, simply visit any Guest Services location inside one of the Disney theme parks to request a Guest Assistance Card for your daughter. It is not required that you provide any medical documentation from a physician regarding your child's abilities however, you'll need to be able to explain the limitations that she has and what Disney can do to make her experience as able-bodied and magical as possible. This card will be good for the duration of your stay. Additional information, including printable in-depth park guides, can be found at this link to the Disney website.

Thanks for taking the time to visit us at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel and feel free to send more questions my way in the days leading up to your trip! May your Disney vacation be practically perfect in every way!
