Hiya Melanie and welcome to planDisney!
You're in for a special time at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Your little adventurer is growing taller which means it's time to brave some bigger attractions. I love the familiar shrieks of excitement as Guests round a hairpin turn on
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and I can't wait to experience new thrills like
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. And
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train has solidified itself amongst the mountains of Magic Kingdom Park. Of course, trying new things can feel a little scary. Let's talk about what to do if your baby just isn't ready yet.
Rider Switch Service is a fabulous way for thrill-seekers in the family to get a chance to ride thrill rides while the chill-seekers don't have to. To use this service, you'll need to talk to the Cast Member at the ride entrance to make sure it's offered for that attraction. I checked and it appears that Seven Dwarfs Mine Train makes the cut! You'll be able to ride the attraction on your own while another adult waits with the little people who aren't tall enough or are a little apprehensive. Once you're done, you'll go find the rest of your party and take over so the other adult can ride. If that person waited by themselves with the child or children, they're allowed to bring one person with them along for the ride. All of this happens at one time and not at a different time in the day. I'd definitely encourage her to go for it when she has the opportunity as the line for that attraction can stay long pretty consistently throughout the day.
Pro-tip: This one is directly from my goddaughter who has been chasing thrills since she crossed the 40-inch height requirement. Tell your baby to be brave like Merida and try everything she can! She may find that she loves the rollercoaster life. And if she tries and decides it's not for her everything can be made all better with a visit to
Storybook Treats for a Snow White Cone.
Melanie, with a little encouragement from you, I know your girl will be comin' 'round the mountain with Happy, Sneezy, Bashful, Doc, Sleepy, Dopey, and Grumpy in no time. If you have any other questions, please feel free to
come back for another chat!
Happy planning!
