My daughter (2.5), husband, and I will be traveling to WDW 9/24-9/28. Would my 2.5 year old get much out of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? What activities does the party entail? I keep debating about whether its worth the extra cost. Thanks!

    Hi, Lena!

I am loving this question because my family and I just had a huge discussion on this topic!  I first took my kids to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party when my kids were 2 and 5.   I have to be honest, they really did not enjoy it at all at that age.   While there really is nothing scary at the party, but for some reason they found the fog machines, the parade, and the characters in Halloween costumes to be overwhelming.  It is funny to them now, at ages 12 and 9 they can't believe they made us leave after 1 hour!

Now, that said, I am sure there are plenty of families with young kids who love the trick-or-treating and all the fall fun.  There is also a special fireworks display, dance parties, and a stage show with the villains.  If your princess is a night owl, loves Halloween, and you can squeeze it into your budget, you might want to give it a try.  If you have any doubts, leave this for something to enjoy in a few years when you can party and trick-or-treat until midnight!

Whatever you decide, have a great vacation and Happy Halloween!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
