Hi Susan,
Welcome to planDisney. We're your ticket to boots on the ground advice for planning Walt Disney World Resort vacations and it would be a pleasure to advise you on the next steps for accessing the magic of your daughter's ticket from 1996. If you had the pleasure of seeing Cinderella Castle transformed into a pleasantly pink birthday cake for Walt Disney World's 25th Anniversary Celebration that year, you will be awe-struck by its current status as an EARidescent masterpiece in honor of
The World's Most Magical Celebration. The gold details, vibrant hues, and gleaming turrets draw inspiration from Disney Legend Mary Blair. At night, Cinderella Castle shines with pixie dust as a
Beacon of Magic, and a viewing of the new nighttime spectacular,
Disney Enchantment, will leave you filled with a sense of magical empowerment.
To enter one of the
four theme parks, you must have a valid park
admission and park pass reservation linked in your
My Disney Experience account. When
linking park tickets on the Walt Disney World website, Guests with tickets purchased before 2010 are instructed to call (407) 939-4357 for information and assistance. In the My Disney Experience mobile app, a similar message appears with directions to call (407) 939-6204. A Cast Member at either one of these phone numbers will be able to use their magic wand to help you and/or your daughter preserve the magic of her unused ticket. Lots of folks are answering the call to Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary Celebration, so I recommend calling when you have some time to enjoy some music while you wait. I like to call when I'm doing chores around the house; folding laundry is always better with a Disney soundtrack.
As soon as your admission is squared away, take a look at the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar and make your
park pass reservations as soon as you are able. To make plans with your daughter, you'll want to make sure you're connected as
Family and Friends in My Disney Experience. You'll also want to consider your
mode of entry into the parks. The information from your My Disney Experience account can be connected to a
MagicBand, admission card, or
Disney MagicMobile pass that will be scanned at the entrance to each park.
The
My Disney Experience mobile app opens up a whole new world of connectivity and planning assistance throughout your Disney days. While the magic of a Disney vacation remains unchanged, the ways to maximize and strategize the magic have grown exponentially in the past twenty-five years. Please reach out to planDisney with any other trip-planning questions before, during, or after your visit.
You are the magic,
Jennifer
