Hi Lisa, welcome to planDisney!
Most Walt Disney World Resort attractions are suitable for Guests of
any height, but there are some Disney thrills worth growing up for. With a minimum height requirement of 48 inches,
TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom Park is one of those thrills. My family entered the Grid on opening day in April and was blown away by the energy and excitement surrounding this attraction. It lived up to the hype and is now my husband and son's favorite, must-do attraction.
I'm so glad that
Rider Switch service exists and is available for TRON Lightcycle / Run. Here's how it works. At 6:55 a.m. on your Magic Kingdom Park day, use the
My Disney Experience mobile app to confirm your party in preparation for the 7:00 a.m. virtual queue (three small lines at the bottom right of the app's homepage > Virtual Queues). Only confirm those in your party who will be experiencing the attraction. You do not need to include your daughter. Click the "Refresh" button at 7:00 a.m. to obtain your boarding group. Once your boarding group is called, head to the attraction.
When joining the queue, tell the Cast Member you'd like to take advantage of Rider Switch service and they'll give you further instructions. In some cases, the queue for TRON extends beyond the Lightning Lane entrance and your little one may have to wait in line with you until you connect with the right Cast Member. That Cast Member will scan the method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) of the individual staying with your daughter ("Party 2"). If your party size allows that individual to have a ride buddy, the Cast Member will also give another member of your party a Ride Switch entitlement. This lucky duck gets to ride with Party 1 and Party 2. After Party 1 has experienced the attraction, Party 2 can scan in at the Lightning Lane entrance for their turn.
I hope this information helps prepare you for your high-speed adventure. If the 7:00 a.m. virtual queue doesn't work out, there is another chance to join the virtual queue at 1:00 p.m. Just keep in mind you have to be physically in Magic Kingdom Park to join the afternoon virtual queue.
You arrive at Walt Disney World Resort in two days, Lisa, can you believe it?! Just keep packing and don't hesitate to reach out to me
