My daughter and I will be there for Halloween can we wear costumes in Halloween? Or face paint? (ages 23 and up) As suggested on your website to check the maxpass fastpass before buying them to make sure they will be valid, how do we do that?

Boo to you, Dianne! Thanks for bringing your spook-tacular questions to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Halloween than at the Disneyland Resort! To help you start planning, here’s the Entertainment Schedule for the day. Disney California Adventure Park is scheduled to close to regular admission Guests at 6:00 PM for the specially-ticketed event, Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party. So, if you don’t already have a ticket for the Bash (which is sold out) you’ll need to exit Disney California Adventure Park by that time. However, if you purchase a Park Hopper Ticket for the day, you can head on over to Disneyland Park for the rest of the evening.

Adult costumes are only allowed inside Disney California Adventure Park for Oogie Boogie Bash, so long as they follow the Costume Guidelines. During the Bash, Guests ages 14 and older may wear capes that don’t go below the waist, themed clothing and accessories, and headwear that doesn’t cover the face. Inside Disneyland Park, the regular Disneyland Resort Rules apply, which means that unfortunately, costumes may not be worn by Guests ages 14 or older. Instead, I’d recommend putting together a creative Disney Bounding outfit. Have you heard of Disney Bounding? It involves dressing up in stylish, everyday outfits that are inspired by particular Disney Characters. I think this would be the perfect way to get in the Halloween spirit with your daughter!

I don’t see any mention of face paint being prohibited within the Disneyland Resort Rules, but you may want to bring some face wipes along just in case you have any issues at the Security Checkpoint.

Lastly, regarding purchasing Disney MaxPass, if you’re arriving at the theme parks earlier in the day, then there should still be plenty of availability for Disney FASTPASS selections using Disney MaxPass. However, if you’re planning to arrive later in the day, there may not be as much FASTPASS availability at that point. That’s why the website recommends waiting to check on FASTPASS availability, which can only be done within the parks. I recommend downloading the Disneyland app ahead of time, so you’re ready to add Disney MaxPass to your tickets if you choose to. You can add it directly through your phone once you have the app. Disney MaxPass also includes unlimited digital downloads of your Disney PhotoPass pictures, which is another great benefit! Even if you choose not to purchase MaxPass, you can still enjoy making FASTPASS selections at the FASTPASS kiosks located near select attractions. Using FASTPASS is a great way to maximize your time in the theme parks!

Wishing you many happy haunts this Halloween Time!
