My daughter, grandson (6) and I will be traveling to Disney late July 2015. This is my grandson's first time at Disney as well as his birthday he will be 7. Does Disney do anything for birthday's and what do you suggest for us to do that will be special!

    Hello Maria!

It sounds like you have a very special trip planned this summer.  Three generations, experiencing the joy of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation together, a first visit and a birthday-- sounds perfectly magical!

Be sure to mention your celebrations on your Resort and dining reservations, as occasionally a little extra Pixie Dust may be sprinkled on your grandson for his special day. Although there is no guarantee, sometimes we have had a dessert or a birthday card from the characters given to our kids to help celebrate. Also, make sure to tell your Resort Front Desk or stop by a Guest Relations location to pick up your complimentary celebratory buttons. There is a "First Time Visit" and a "Happy Birthday" one, so make sure he gets both to wear proudly.

Depending on what he likes, The Pirates League in Magic Kingdom Park or the Jedi Training Academy at Disney's Hollywood Studios are both special events geared towards kids his age.

I also have some great restaurant suggestions for celebrating the big 7, so if you'd like those, please send me a follow-up question here.  Have a wonderful vacation, Maria! I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Happy Planning,

    Lauren

Meet the Panelist: Lauren, Colorado

Hi-ya, Pals! I'm Lauren, a wife and mother of three who's enjoyed many special occasions at Walt Disney World Resort with my family and friends. From graduations to birthdays, and even our Fairy Tale Honeymoon we’ve loved celebrating at the most Magical Place on Earth. I now have pre-teens who check wait times in the My Disney Experience App just for fun, so I look for any excuse to return "home" often and would love to help you plan a little extra Pixie Dust for your next magical adventure.
