My daughter and grandson who will be 2 on July 1 and myself are visiting April 24 to May 1. What character dining experience (hopefully interactive) could he participate in?

Bonny, three generations off to see Mickey! What fun!

My top choice for a character dining meal for your grandson would be Chef Mickey's. A bountiful buffet, the monorail whooshing overhead, and meeting the Disney Five Fab is a quintessential Walt Disney World experience. If your little prince has a particular fondness for Winnie the Pooh or Tigger the Crystal Palace inside the Magic Kingdom is also a favorite option. Mickey's Backyard BBQ gives you the chance to join the hoedown and do a little line dancing with the mouse and his best girl in the lead. Peruse the the other character dining choices at Disney Dining to see if another option suits your family best.

Your grandson will adore any meal where he gets to met and hug his favorite characters so be ready to snap some pictures of his happy smile!
