Hi, my daughter and her friends are planning a trip to Disney during the Christmas, they all are 15. If I purchase their tickets and drop them off at the park, would they need me to verify that I bought their tickets for them to gain entry to the park?

Hello Amanda! I “get it!” We’ve reached that time as parents when the kids want to venture into the parks without us! My wife and I allowed our kids (ages 16, 16, and 12) to go to the parks without us for the first time during our visit this past summer. We sat on the balcony of our resort hotel as we watched them board the Disney Skyliner and “take off” for Disney’s Hollywood Studios! It was one of those moments as a parent that you don’t forget!

I'm happy to share the age requirements with you! Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 or older to enter the Disney Parks! So, your 15-year-old daughter and her friends may visit the parks without you. That includes the four main Disney Parks, as well as Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. In order to visit the four main parks, they must have both a valid theme park ticket as well as a Disney Park Pass reservation.

Amanda, good luck to you as you enter a new phase of parenting! But, of course, your daughter and her friends are going to have a blast visiting the park!
