My daughter is going with her friends and I need to pick her up. Where can I pick her up? Can I park at downtown Disney and walk to the front gate?

    Hi there, Jamie!

That is so exciting for your daughter to get to spend some time at the Disneyland Resort with friends. And you are so great to help provide transportation. The parent of the year award goes to you, Jamie!

There are two Guest pickup locations at the Disneyland Resort. Get to the first location from I-5 exit 110, heading southbound on South Harbor Boulevard. Make a right-hand turn into the pickup area across the street from the Denny’s. You’ll see a sign that says “Guest Drop-Off Only.”

The second pickup location is accessed from Disneyland Drive. Instead of heading toward the theme park parking structures, follow the signs for “thru traffic” or “hotels” and “Downtown Disney.” From Disneyland Drive turn onto Magic Way. Then turn left onto Downtown Drive. You’ll pick up a ticket at the entrance of the lot, which will allow you 15 minutes free of charge to pick up your passengers at the designated pickup area.

If you’d like, you may choose to find a parking spot in the Downtown Disney District parking lot and walk to the theme park entrance plaza to meet your party. Note that a minimum *charge of $10 will apply for your first hour at the parking lot. Frankly, I think that would be plenty of time to stop by Salt & Straw for a little gourmet ice cream treat before finding your passengers. Go ahead! You’ve earned it. And I certainly won’t tell anybody! But if you want to earn some credit toward next year’s parent of the year award, I suppose you could treat your passengers as well. And a minimum purchase of $20 will get you parking validation for an additional three hours if you’d like to stay longer at the Downtown Disney District.

I hope your daughter has a magical time at the Disneyland Resort, Jamie. And may your chauffeuring adventure go as smoothly as possible.

    Drive safely!

    ~Tony
