My daughter has food allergies and I have to carry an epipen I usually just carry it in my school bag but being out all day in the florida heat on my disney trip this JUne was wondering if anyone had any advise on how they keep their epipen at a good temp?

    Hi Nadine!

One of my children has a peanut allergy so we're quite familiar with EpiPens and we carry them at all times. My recommendation is to place your EpiPen at the bottom of your backpack, or whatever bag you'll be carrying with you into the theme parks. EpiPens should be stored in temperatures between 59ºF and 86ºF. While you should always take precautions to ensure that the EpiPen doesn't get too hot or too cold, you should also know that studies have shown they are still 'pretty' effective even after being exposed to temperatures outside the recommended range and well past the expiration date too. However, I also recommend you consult with your child's pediatrician for the best way to store and carry your daughter's EpiPen. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. I'll be happy to help you plan your family's Disney vacation!
