Our daughter has food allergies, can we bring her food? Also, the team is capable to use epipen?

    Ahoy Andres!

Thanks for wishing upon a star and for coming to visit us at planDisney. Come next March, you can expect to experience a lot of fanfare on your royal vacation at sea with Disney Cruise Line!

Sounds like your best bet will be to speak to Disney Cruise Line's Special Services team before you sail or to submit the Special Services Information form, especially if you feel that your daughter’s  allergies are quite severe or life-threatening. Table service restaurants are equipped to accommodate most dietary requests. When calling to book your cruise, have them make a note of her food allergies on your reservation. Once onboard the ship, dietary allergies should also be brought to the attention of your Head Server. I would recommend doing this sooner rather than later.

Honestly, there’s a big difference between wanting to bring snacks or supplemental food onboard versus bringing all your daughter’s food onboard. Be mindful that Crew Members are barred from storing, preparing, cooking or reheating any food brought aboard by Guests. Additionally, while steps are taken to prevent cross-contact, there’s not enough space to maintain separate allergy-friendly kitchens onboard, and the crew is unable to guarantee that a menu item is completely free of allergens. So it really depends on the extent of your child’s allergies and your comfort level with these standards in place. Once you talk to Special Services, it will become clear whether her needs can be met onboard the ship.

I totally encourage you to bring all necessary medical supplies with you, including Epipens. However,
Disney Cruise Line is unable to provide one-on-one counselor care or counselor-assisted medical attention. Children who can self-address their personal medical needs can carry medically necessary supplies on them while in the Youth Clubs or they are welcome to store them at the Youth Activities front desk. All the details about this can be found in the Information for Guests with Disabilities or Medical Conditions

Wishing you the best of luck as you get answers to these questions. Since your child’s needs are so individualized, Special Services will be best equipped to assist you. Here’s hoping for an allergy-free voyage and an absolute DREAM vacation!

    Happy Sailing!
