My daughter and I are flying into John Wayne Airport in early-August for a Disneyland Resort weekend, staying at a Good Neighbor Hotel - DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort. Any recommended transportation options for us to get to/from the airport?

    Hi there, Jennifer!

Thanks so much for your awesome question, I'm happy to help. There are plenty of great options for getting from the airport to the Disneyland Resort, so let's get this show on the road!

Flying into the John Wayne Airport is usually a breeze, in my experience! My opinion on ground transportation depends a little bit on your plans. If you're going to be exploring other areas of California, such as visiting the beach or other activities, you might want to rent a car. You can easily do that at the airport through a variety of typical vendors. However, my family typically sticks to the Disneyland Resort so we choose to use a ride-share app or we schedule a car in advance to take us to and from our hotel. That keeps us from paying for parking at our hotel (which most hotels in the resort area charge for) when we don't plan to drive anywhere! With a party of two, I would recommend using your favorite ride-share app. Download it before you go and take a look at the pickup areas for the airport, the one at John Wayne Airport is really quick and easy!

Once you arrive at your Good Neighbor Hotel you'll be a short walk from the Disneyland Resort...my favorite place to be! If you have some time to explore I highly recommend taking a stroll through the Downtown Disney District and around the Disneyland Resort Hotel grounds. We love hanging out at Tangaroa Terrace for a quick snack (hooray for mobile ordering on the Disneyland Mobile App) and looking at the art and history in the lobbies of the Disneyland Hotel towers. The scale model in the Frontier Tower is so cool!

Jennifer, I'm wishing you and your daughter safe travels and a magical visit to "The Happiest Place on Earth!" If you have more questions on favorite attractions, cool park details, or how many DOLE Whips you can eat in a day you can totally send me a note!

    Keep moving forward!
