Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Steve –– you're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!
Thanks so much for dropping by with your question. If you ask me, nothing makes you feel like an official Mousketeer quite like being a
Walt Disney World Annual Passholder. With an entire year of magic in Walt Disney World theme parks,
fantastic dining and shopping discounts, Passholder-exclusive opportunities, and so much more, it's definitely the club that's made for you and me. I'm so excited to hear that your daughter is planning to become a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder soon –– I hope she loves it as much as I do!
After your daughter purchases her Annual Pass, she'll have up to one year from that date to activate it. To do this, all she needs to do is tap into one of the four Walt Disney World theme parks. Once that happens, the date she first enters the park will become the new expiration date for her Annual Pass. For instance, if she purchases her Annual Pass on August 23rd but isn't planning to visit a park until September 1st, her pass won't be activated until she enters. Once she does, the 365-day clock will officially begin and she'll be able to enjoy all the benefits of being a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder until the following September 1st.
While sales of most new Annual Passes are paused at this time, as a Florida Resident, your daughter will still have the option to purchase a Disney Pixie Dust Pass. Just be sure to remind her that she'll need to provide
proof of Florida residency before her pass can be activated. If she has a Florida Driver's License, state-issued ID, or Florida-based military ID, she'll be able to do this online at the time she purchases her pass. If not, she can provide proof of a Florida residential address at any theme park ticket window before she uses her new Annual Pass for the first time.
Thanks for visiting planDisney, Steve. If you or your daughter think of more questions before your next Walt Disney World Resort visit, I hope you'll stop by again –– we're always happy to lend a helping hand!
Happy Planning,
Amy
