Ahoy, Elaine!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your daughter and her family must be getting so excited for their vacation of a lifetime to The Last Frontier! We were able to experience cruising to Alaska for the second time aboard the
Disney Wonder this past summer and can't wait to go back! Your daughter will be in awe of the nonstop beauty surrounding the ship while sailing through the fjords.
Hopefully your daughter is thinking about booking some of the magical
Alaskan Port Adventures offered by Disney Cruise Line! If so, her family will be driven to the excursions in large motorcoaches that do not support nor require car seats. Any smaller buccaneer will sit on an adult's lap or in their own seat! I loved knowing I didn't have to carry my son's car seat with us for our voyage to Alaska.
The different towns located in each port of call visited during an Alaskan cruise are so special because the majority are within walking distance from the pier! We found it so easy to walk right into the heart of each town. With that being said, if your daughter wanted to take her own public transportation to visit other areas, I highly recommend checking in advance what the car seat policies are with whatever public transportation service she is considering using before setting sail.
Elaine, thank you for asking this excellent question! I can't wait for your daughter and her family to experience the jaw-dropping WONDER of Alaska!
