i have a daughter with down syndrome and want to know about how to help her get around the park (do you rent a stroller or are there little carts?) Also, is there a way to bypass lines for her so we don't have complete meltdowns?

Hi, Alli!  I have always found Walt Disney World to be one of the most accommodating vacation spots when traveling with someone with disabilities.  It's one of the reasons we've loved it so much and always want to go back.

There are strollers available to rent at each of the theme parks.  You don't mention how old your daughter is, but even for an individual child, I love the double strollers for the extra room.  She can really spread out, and it's a good place to sit while waiting for fireworks or parades.  Single stroller rental is $15 per day, or it's $31 for the double stroller.  There is a discount for multiday rental.

You can get information regarding weight limits and alternatives to the Walt Disney World stroller rentals by visiting Stroller Rental Information.  There are several Featured Providers listed - companies that are outside of Walt Disney World, but will deliver and pick up strollers to you for the length of your stay.

Your daughter might benefit from the Disability Access Services Card.  The card works similarly to a FastPass.  You will choose an attraction that you'd like to enjoy, and go to the cast member at the attraction.  They will mark your card with a return time that allows you to come back in about the same amount of time you would have had to stand in line, except you can head off to do something else instead of waiting.  You'll also want to utilize the FastPass+ system to schedule times for some of the more popular attractions.

I hope your upcoming vacation is sprinkled with way more magic than meltdowns!
