my daughter and i are doing a mommy daughter trip. she is 4 and i am 37 going on 4. With it just being the 2 of us. is the dining plan going to cost us more than if you just paid as we go?

    Hi Mandy,

Woo Hoo!  Mommy and daughter trip!  Now that sounds like the perfect girl's getaway to me.  You two Princesses are going to have a royal ball on your vacation!

In my opinion, you will get a lot more value for your vacation by purchasing the Disney Dining Plan that includes 1 Table-Service meal, 1 Quick-Service meal, and 1 snack per day than by purchasing your food as you go.  My reasoning is because for 2015, the cost for the Disney Dining Plan for a child is only $19.23 per day (tax included).  The cost for your child's entire day of food rivals the cost for one lunch or dinner character meal at a Table-Service restaurant.  Character meals are such an enjoyable way to meet characters without standing in a line.  Plus you can dine in air-conditioned comfort and enjoy a refreshing break.  Even my older children request certain character meals on our vacations.  To be honest, my husband and I always make sure to have at least 1 meal at Crystal Palace during our adults-only trips to Walt Disney World.  Not only do we really enjoy the food, but the restaurants are so fun and magical that it brings out the inner child in all of us.  Even if you choose to dine at other Table-Service restaurants that don't have characters, you can save a bundle by using the Disney Dining Plan.

Another great reason why I love the Disney Dining Plan is because I don't have to worry about budgeting or the cost of food while on vacation because the majority of our food is already paid for!  This allows me to be a kick back and enjoy my vacation to the fullest.

I hope this information helps you with your decision Mandy.  If you have any further questions about the Disney Dining Plan or any other vacation planning topic, please write back to us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  We are always happy to help!

    Blessings,
    Brenda ºOº
