I want to take my daughter to Disney World for her 3rd birthday. For the days I'm looking at she would turn 3 during the trip. I know I don't have to pay for her ticket but what about the dining plan? Will I have to add her and pay more?

    Hi Shannon,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question. I can’t think of a better place to celebrate your daughter’s birthday!

As you may already know, Guests under the age of 3 are Mickey’s very special guests during their visits to Walt Disney World Resort. This means that they don’t need to purchase a Theme Park Ticket in order to gain entry to the Parks but also that you don’t need to purchase a Disney Dining Plan for them in order for them to be able to dine at buffet and family-style table service locations at no charge.

From what I understand, a child’s “age” for these kinds of offerings is based on their age when you check in for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. This means that, if your daughter is under 3 when you check in, you won’t need to purchase a Disney Dining Plan for her during your stay.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
