My daughter & I will be in Disney in May.Our budget is very tight and someone told me that since the economy is so bad, most people are staying at the value resorts now. Do you think the value resorts will be more crowded than usual?

    Kathy:

I met the impressive gentleman who oversees the value resorts in December, and I learned something interesting: the value resorts house the most rooms of any Disney accommodation, yet maintain an extremely high occupancy rate....and that was before the rough economy!

The resort's popularity springs not only from its price but its large foodcourt, enormous pools, generous buses to the parks, firework views at Pop Century, and, as the name implies, good value!

I don't think you'll encounter any larger crowd than what has been seen over the last few years at the resort.  If anything, it'll mean more frequent buses to get everyone to the parks!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
