My daughter was diagnosed with autism and I pretend bring her to California during the summer vacations. We want take her and the stepsister to Disneyland. It’s her first time in the Disneyland (her dream come true). I want to know how we can make the DAS.

Hi there, Mariangela—welcome to planDisney! Oh, my heart just did a little flip like Tinker Bell soaring over Sleeping Beauty Castle! I absolutely love that you "pretend" take your daughter to Disneyland—that's the heart of a true Disney dreamer right there! And the most wonderful news? Soon, all that imagining will magically transform into real-life core memories for her and her stepsister! How exciting is that?!

It's wonderful that you're planning ahead to make your daughter's dream visit as comfortable and joyful as possible. Let's chat about the Disability Access Service (DAS), which is a fantastic program to assist Guests who have difficulty waiting in lines for extended periods of time. There are a couple of convenient ways to register for DAS. One way is to connect with a Cast Member via a pre-arrival video chat—a great way to get everything set up from the comfort of your own castle! Or, once you arrive at Disneyland Resort, you can visit the Accessibility Services Kiosk located in the Esplanade, on the east side near Disney California Adventure Park. Whichever you choose, Mariangela, your daughter will need to be present during the registration process, whether it's via video chat or in person.

To help you plan even further, I highly recommend exploring the accessibility page of the Disneyland website. You'll find dedicated resources for Guests who are neurodivergent, including guides detailing the sensory experiences at various attractions in both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. These can be incredibly helpful for knowing what to expect and making choices that are best for your daughter. The Accessibility Planning Guide is also a great place to start. You might find the “Need a Break Locations” section particularly helpful, as it lists areas of the parks that are generally quieter, which can help in the event of overstimulation—or if your family simply needs to rest before jumping back into the magic.

And Mariangela, the Disneyland mobile app will be your best pal! With a few quick taps, you can peek at current attraction wait times, easily locate the nearest restrooms, and utilize my favorite feature: mobile food and beverage ordering. It’s such a fantastic way to get your tasty snacks and meals with less waiting! The app is also your go-to spot for using DAS. After you select an attraction return time, your family is welcome to explore other enchanting parts of the park—perhaps taking in a dazzling parade, browsing the shops, or capturing that unforgettable first photo with Mickey Mouse!—until it’s time to head to the attraction.

So there you have it, Mariangela! It sounds like you're already doing an amazing job planning a truly special and memorable first visit for your daughter and her stepsister. Knowing her dream is about to come true next month fills my heart with so much joy for you all! Please don't hesitate to send any more questions our way. We're always here to help you add that extra sprinkle of pixie dust to your plans!

Wishing you an absolutely unforgettable and magical adventure!
