My daughter has been diagnosed with ADS (Autism). How do I go about registering for DAS?

Hi, Nichole!  Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!

Like you, I also have a child who is on the autism spectrum, and one of the things we love the most about Walt Disney World Resort is the way that they make the magic accessible to everyone.  When I visit the Walt Disney World theme parks with my son, we use Disability Access Service (DAS)

DAS is an accommodation intended for Guests who, due to a disability, are unable to wait in a traditional queue environment.  Guests who are registered for DAS are able to use the My Disney Experience mobile app to request a return time for an attraction that they would like to experience.  The return time is based on that attraction's current standby wait time.  Any time after the given return time, the Guest and their travel party may return to the attraction and access it using the Lightning Lane entrance rather than waiting in the standby queue.  Once one ride return time is redeemed, you may then book another.

If you'd like to register your daughter for DAS, you have a couple of options.  You can pre-register for DAS by participating in a live video chat with a Cast Member.  This can be done 2 to 30 days before your theme park visit.  To access the video chat, click on this DAS pre-registration link, read over all of the information, accept the Terms and Conditions, then click on the "Request Live Video Chat" button.  Once you click this button, you will be redirected to a chat window.  Please be aware that wait times for the video chat can be quite long, so be sure to plan accordingly.  You'll want to make sure your daughter is nearby because she'll need to join you on the video chat once the Cast Member connects with you.  The Cast Member will just need to ask you a couple of quick questions to determine your daughter's specific needs, and if it is determined that DAS is a good fit for her, they can register her right then and there.

If you pre-register for DAS via the live video chat, you will also be able to select two DAS Advance experiences per day of your visit, based on availability.  These experiences are in addition to the DAS ride return times that you will be able to select once you arrive at the theme park.

If you would prefer not to use the live video chat, you can also register for DAS in person once you're at Walt Disney World Resort.  To do so, you'll want to head to the front entrance Guest Relations location as soon as you arrive at one of the theme parks.  There you can let the Cast Members know that you would like to register your daughter for DAS.  The in-person registration is very similar to what occurs over video chat.  It's a quick and easy process, but please be aware that if you register in person, you will not have the option to book those DAS Advance experiences.

Nichole, if you have additional questions about DAS or any other aspect of your upcoming vacation, please visit us at planDisney again.  We'd be happy to help!  See ya real soon!
