My daughter and I are coming to Disneyland January 7-8th. I noticed the Holiday Disney ends on the 6th. Will the 7th be a day of everything being shut down because of the turn around? Wondering if we are making a mistake coming on those days?

Greetings, Wendy, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so glad you’re hEAR!

All good things must come to an end, and unfortunately, that means that the last day of the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort will be on January 6, 2020. So, you’re correct that there will be some attraction closures during this transition. However, there aren’t as many closures as you would probably think – much of the work is actually done in the wee hours of the night and early morning, when the parks are closed to Guests. So, I went ahead and checked the Entertainment Schedule for January 7, and here are the attractions and restaurants scheduled to be closed for refurbishment:

Disneyland Park – Mark Twain Riverboat, Snow White’s Scary Adventures, “it’s a small world” Holiday, Hyperspace Mountain

Disney California Adventure Park – Red Car Trolley, Carthay Circle Restaurant, Carthay Circle Lounge

The good news is that Space Mountain is scheduled to re-open on January 8, so if this attraction is a favorite of yours (like it is for me!) then you’ll still have the chance to experience it! January 8 is also Anaheim Ducks Day at Disney California Adventure Park, which I highly recommend checking out! There will even be a special Anaheim Ducks Day Cavalcade at 1:30 PM, featuring the awesome hockey stars that make up this special team. Don't miss the specialty treats available throughout the park, too! I recommend downloading the Disneyland app to stay up-to-speed with the special events planned that day.

So, to go back to your initial question, I don’t think it’s a mistake to visit the Disneyland Resort on those days, Wendy. In fact, I think this schedule could work in your favor, with lighter crowds and more room for magic! Plus, the weather reports for next week are looking great – sunny and cool, which is just perfect for a nice winter visit to the parks!

Wishing you and your daughter the most magical adventures together, Wendy!
