My daughter will be coming to Disney on a school trip. How can I get her/add Lightning lane, Genie+ passes on a one day group issued ticket? will I need to buy a seperate ticket?

    Hello Eric!

Welcome to planDisney! I wish my school did fun things like trips to Walt Disney World Resort. Maybe it was a good thing as my obsession with the Parks would have started much sooner and the world may not have been ready for that.

If your daughter is coming on a school trip and has been given a group-issued ticket then most likely they worked with the Disney Imagination Campus to secure them. The Disney Imagination Campus helps all kinds of school groups organize their trips to the Parks with some pretty great deals too!

Now, it is important to note that Guests must be 18 or older to purchase and make selections regarding Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. You will have to purchase it for your daughter if she is underage. If she is staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel you can make that purchase on the My Disney Experience Mobile App, 7 days before she arrives. If she is not then you can purchase it 3 days before. If your child is 13 years or older then she can create their own My Disney Experience Account. Make sure to link them to your Family & Friends List so that you can make purchases for them and set them up for the day with the first three Lightning Lane selections. After she uses her first Lightning Lane in the Park another one can be booked for another attraction. As the day progresses more attractions can be booked as Lightning Lane bookings are used.

Do not buy a second ticket. According to the Disney Imagination Campus, you should be able to add this service to your daughter's ticket for the day. Ensure it is linked to her account and don't forget to book a Theme Park Reservation. Since this is a Student group ticket you will need to make a Theme Park Reservation. Once everything is linked and set up you will be ready to go on the day you are allowed to buy. Remember, purchases can be made at 7 am so set that alarm!

I hope this helps and that your daughter has a lovely time!

    Happy Planning!
