My daughter is going to FL. For cheer national and we were told that Disney is exclusively cashless...is that true or do the parks still accept cash???

    Hi Stephanie,

How exciting, your daughter will be attending her National Cheerleading Championship at the Walt Disney World Resort in just a couple more days!

I have good news for you, cash is still accepted at most locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.  There may be a few locations such as carts and kiosks which do not accept cash, but most locations have cash options.  If you are like me and worry about a child losing a credit card, you can also send her with a Disney Gift Card that has a preset amount of money on it.  Most large retailers have Disney Gift Cards available that you can purchase before her trip and your daughter can use it at any location at the Walt Disney World Resort that does not accept cash.

Stephanie, one other thing I want to mention that will help make your daughter's vacation even more enjoyable is having a My Disney Experience Account and downloading the My Disney Experience Mobile App.  If she is under 18, she will not be able to link a method of payment to her account.  However, you can create an account and link a credit card to it for purchases and allow her to log into your account.  From the My Disney Experience Mobile App she will be able to do things such as use the Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering.  Your daughter can pay for her orders with the credit card linked to your account or she can use her Disney Gift Card.  For my child who is under 18, I prefer for him to not carry large amounts of cash or carry my credit card, but I feel secure with him using the Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering as well as carrying a Disney Gift Card.

I hope this information helps you plan your daughter's visit.  Please let us know if you have any further questions, we are always happy to help!
