Hi Susan,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so sorry to hear that your daughter broke her leg. Having been on crutches with a broken ankle years ago, I can empathize. The good news for you is that she can still have a wonderful time on vacation.
First, if you have not done so already, check the
Services for Guests with Disabilities Guide. We have found the park maps with information on disability services particularly helpful. Also review the
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities Guide. This guide will give you information on which attractions and rides your daughter can access with her wheelchair. If your daughter will have difficulty tolerating a standard line/queue for a ride or attraction, stop by Guest Relations when you arrive to your first theme park and request the
Disability Access Service (DAS). With this service, she can receive a return time for a ride or attraction. The girls and I have been able to ride with my husband when he uses the Disability Access Service.
Susan, when we have used the Disability Access Service in the past, my husband has occasionally used an electric conveyance vehicle. When we last rode Kilimanjaro Safaris, we used the ECV /wheelchair access line and he remained in his ECV until we boarded the ride. The four of us were able to remain together. Although I cannot confirm the procedure for every ride or attraction, I can say that the line/queue and particular ride set-up can affect how individuals in wheelchairs or ECVs access the ride or attraction.
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
