Ahoy there, Sandra! Welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so excited that you and your crew are embarking on a Halloween on the High Seas itinerary. These special itineraries are definitely my favorite across all the ships, and I know
my fellow panelist Adrianna feels the same way!
Now, when it comes to costumes, I always suggest your crew follow the guidelines for the safety of all guests onboard.
Costumes must be family-friendly, not obstructive or objectionable, offensive or violent. I can't imagine your daughter's costume running afoul of any of those, except for maybe the "obstructive" part - but I have seen a few inflatable dinosaurs over the years, and those are pretty big! Since inflatable costumes can vary wildly, I'd suggest having her put it on in a hallway in your home, and if you can get by her in the hallway you should be in the clear, but it's important to note that this is always subject to change and at the complete discretion of
Disney Cruise Line crew members.
You may want to plan ahead and come with a backup costume that she likes just as much, in the unlikely event the inflatable is deemed prohibited!
Remember also that when it comes to any costumes that cover the face completely, the mask portion must be removed while moving about the ship. The only time a mask can be worn is during a photo opportunity at a character meet and greet, or while participating in Mickey's Mouse-querade! As someone who once dressed up as "The Winter Soldier" I know this firsthand! Plus, it's hard to eat candy with your face covered, haha!
I hope that keeps the wind in your sails for your upcoming cruise, Sandra! Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any others, please drop me another line here at planDisney!
Keep a weather eye on the horizon for "ghost ships!"
