Hi Nancy,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question!
Nancy, when guests purchase
MagicBands or MagicBand+ through
My Disney Experience, the Bands are typically added to the account of the person managing all the plans for their party/where the tickets are linked. In your example, your daughter may be managing all the plans for everyone else in your party. A quick way to confirm this is if she goes into “MagicBands and More” in the
My Disney Experience mobile app (select the three horizontal lines in the bottom right first). Have her look under “Guests Managed By Me”. If your name isn’t there, this means you’re managing your own plans in your own app.
Since you want her to manage all the plans, your daughter will need to make a change in the “Family & Friends List”. After she selects the horizontal lines again, have her scroll down to “My Profile” and select “Family & Friends List”. When she gets to your name, have her select it, then under “Share Plans” have her send an email. You will then get an email asking if you want her to be in charge of your plans, once you confirm, she’ll be able to make plans for you!
Now if you have MagicBand+ and you want your daughter to take care of all your
settings for you, I think you’re going to need to unlink your MagicBand+ and have her re-link it to her mobile app. This can get a little complicated if your Theme Park ticket is linked in your account separate from the others in her account. My suggestion would be to reach out to the
My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+ help desk. Hopefully they’ll be able to make this change and confirm that your accounts are connected in the right way that way you’ll be all set for your trip with your daughter leading the way!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is useful as you prepare for your next Walt Disney World vacation. If you have any other planning or vacation questions,
please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
Bryanna
