Hello there, Allison, and welcome back to planDisney! I'm so happy you thought to cruise our way with your question as you prepare for a voyage on the
Disney Wish!
The Disney Wish will begin its inaugural sailing season this summer and I cannot wait to step on board the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. From
everything I have seen or read about the Wish, it looks like this ship will be a complete masterpiece. I'm putting in my vote for you as "Mother of the Year" because I can't imagine a better place to celebrate a birthday! What a wonderful and memorable birthday it will be!
When booking, you should use the age that your daughter will be on the day your cruise embarks. If your daughter will be turning an age that would allow her to access a specific area of the ship, for example, a youth club, speak to the Crew Members in those spaces onboard about her age. On a recent sailing, my son was about to turn 11 and the Crew Members at the Edge (a tween space designed for 11-14-year-olds) already had his name on a list as a child who could enter the club if I signed a form giving my permission.
When booking your cruise, you can indicate that you will be celebrating a special occasion during your sailing. The Crew Members love to celebrate alongside you too! You may also be interested in browsing the
Onboard Gifts page via the Disney Cruise Line
website or the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. From there, you can order a special birthday cake or even birthday decorations to add a little extra magic to your stateroom.
I hope that your family has a memorable voyage with the Disney Cruise Line and that a birthday spent with Captain Minnie is like no other. Please sail back to planDisney if you have any more questions. It's a pleasure to help.
Magical memories await!
