Hi Hilary,
How can your daughter *not* have the best time at Walt Disney World? I firmly believe if you set out with a basic plan and a great attitude it's almost impossible to not have an amazing time at Walt Disney World! A good guidebook can be very helpful in your planning. If you don't want to purchase one, they can frequently be found in public libraries. My favorites are Birnbaum's Walt Disney World and The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. The Unofficial Guide also has a fantastic website, TouringPlans.com. Armed with knowledge you can make a great plan for your vacation.
You also asked about the best hotel. There are a number of factors to consider when choosing a resort hotel at Walt Disney World. How old is your daughter? Does she have a favorite character?
Disney's Art of Animation Resort has fantastic theming with Little Mermaid rooms plus Finding Nemo, Lion King, and Cars Family Suites. If your daughter is a fan of the princesses, you might want to choose a Royal Room at
Port Orleans Riverside Resort.
You might consider which park you want to spend the most time in. If you will be focusing on the Magic Kingdom park there are many beautiful resorts on the monorail. If Epcot is more your style there are several resorts conveniently located outside of the International Gateway.
Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
Wishing you and your daughter a magical vacation,
Amy H.
