Jan from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My daughter and I are going to Aulani in May. Trying to decide between a studio or 1 BR. Just curious how many restaurants are close by (I will have a car) other than eating on property for all meals.

    Aloha Jan!

    Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

AULANI, A Disney Resort & Spa was inspired by the traditions and spirit of Hawai’i. It's the ultimate family getaway and as a Disney Vacation Club Member you’ll enjoy paradise with the comforts of home.

I’m currently in the middle of rescheduling my trip to AULANI, A Disney Resort & Spa so you’ve brought your question at just the right time! We are a family of four and planning to stay in a 1-Bedroom Villa. If you’ve got the points for it, I highly recommend you do the same. After you see this room tour, you’ll want to do the same! You’ll enjoy a full size kitchen, living room, and come back to a master suite with a whirlpool tub.

A big Mahalo to my neighbor and fellow Disney Vacation Club member Ashley whose home resort is Aulani! She’s got all the best places to eat nearby and I am happy to share them with you! First up is Monkeypod Kitchen! Not only is the food great but I’ve heard they have the best Mai Tais on the island! It’s the only place you’ll get a Mai Tai with a honey lilikoi foam on top! It’s in a small shopping center you can walk to where you’ll also find a coffee shop, ice cream parlor, pizza and an ABC Market. She also highly recommends Noe and Longhis at the other nearby resorts.

Even with all the wonderful places to eat outside the resort, you can’t forget about the BEST at the resort itself, ‘AMA’AMA- Contemporary Island Cooking. At ‘AMA’AMA, you’ll enjoy classic Hawaiian cuisine with a modern twist! This open-air restaurant will give you some amazing views while you dine and if you time it just right, you can enjoy a sunset dinner. Make sure you make a reservation as you won’t want to miss the opportunity to dine there.

Well Jan, I hope you found this information useful and if you have any more questions for us be sure to come back and let us know.

Remember, always believe in the Magic!
