Hi BobbiJo,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for stopping by with your question! As a Mom of four quite fair children with sensitive skin, I appreciate the nature of your question. Although none of my children have a true allergy to chlorine, they do have sensitivity to it and we take care when we are planning our pool outings.
Currently most of the
Disney Resort hotel pools and water parks use bromine rather than chlorine to keep the water clean. My children are much more tolerant of bromine and can extend their splash time when playing in pools that use bromine to sanitize the water. Additionally, there are two pools which feature a saltwater filtration system, which is more of a natural chlorination process, to clean the water.
Stormalong Bay, which is shared by Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort, utilizes this type of system and has been called by children "a mini water park".
The Big Blue Pool at Disney's Art of Animation Resort also features a saltwater filtration system and is the largest Disney Resort hotel pool. My family can "Just keep swimming" for hours at this pool and we once extended our trip by an extra day just to stay and enjoy this lovely location.
As we
Return to a World of Magic, please keep in mind some amenities will have a phased reopening. I suggest checking The
Disney Parks Blog frequently for the latest information for all the Disney Parks and your daily dose of Magic.
