My daughter aged 10 really enjoyed the oceaneers club and is already asking to come back. What is the age group for the oceaneers, could she join if shes 11 or 12?

    Ahoy there, Pamela!

Welcome aboard planDisney! I’m thrilled to hear your daughter had such an amazing time in the Oceaneer Club—so much so that she’s already asking when she can set sail again! That right there is the kind of post-cruise magic we love to see. I’ve been in the same boat with my own kids, and there’s nothing quite like watching them come alive in those immersive spaces filled with imagination, characters, and hands-on fun.

Now, onto your great question! The Oceaneer Club and Lab are reserved for young sailors ages 3 to 10, and those age limits are set in stone—no exceptions, even if your soon-to-be tween still feels like she belongs with the Toy Story gang a little longer.

But here’s where the story takes a fun new twist: Once your daughter turns 11, she’ll unlock the magic of Edge, the tween-exclusive space designed for Guests ages 11 to 14. Think of it as her stepping into a whole new chapter—kind of like when Moana finally sails beyond the reef. Edge has a more independent vibe with activities tailored to tweens, like video games, themed nights, crafts, movies, and the kind of laid-back hangout atmosphere that makes kids feel like royalty without the need for a crown.

In our crew, it’s been fun watching how my kids’ preferences change depending on the ship we're sailing. When we’re aboard the Wish or the Treasure, they tend to gravitate toward Edge—they love the sleek, modern vibe and the feeling of independence it gives them. But when we sail on the Fantasy or Dream, they can’t resist the nostalgic pull of the Oceaneer Club and Lab. Even now that they’ve aged out of those spaces, they make the most of every Open House opportunity to soak up the magic, whether it’s exploring Andy’s Room one more time or testing their skills in the Marvel Super Hero Academy. It’s like revisiting their own Disney origin story—and I don’t blame them one bit!

I hope this helps as you chart a course for your next Disney cruise! Tell your daughter she’s got a whole world of new adventures waiting on the horizon—and if she's anything like my young cruisers, she’ll be packing her suitcase (and pirate gear) before the countdown hits single digits.

Sea ya real soon as May brings sunshine, magical ports, and maybe a Mickey bar or two,
