My daughter (9) is ABSOLUTELY CRAZY about sharks. We plan to swim with the sharks at TL but I'm wondering if there is anything they might do for her to make her dream of swimming with sharks a little extra special? It would mean the world to her!

I see a Shark Biologist in your future. I myself prefer swimming with dolphins. Since your daughter dreams of sharks, let me see if I can help plan a memorable day. What a great idea to make this dream come true for her. Certainly you are headed to the right place for making dreams come true. Let’s get to it…

Shark Reef does not encourage lingering and your daughter will probably be asked to swim directly across the 60-ft pool. Give her an inexpensive (single-use) underwater camera to document her brave journey. Have a towel ready as the water is very cold. After her swim, proceed to the Dive Shop and ask if they have any certificates available. If so, this document will be proof of her shark adventure.

For a more engaging expedition, I would suggest the S.A.S. Adventure. She will learn surface air snorkeling. After the instruction, she would be able to snorkel for 30 minutes. The fee was $20 but be sure to check for current prices at the entrance to Shark Reef.

To inquire about current prices, and any extra special touches, including the Shark Reef certificate, call Typhoon Lagoon at (407) 560-4141.

Perhaps you could commemorate her day with dinner or just a dessert at the Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot. During the meal, she may be able to spot a Brown Shark swimming in the man-made coral reef. Call the restaurant at (407) 560-6784 and ask about having a personalized menu and diver swim over and unroll a message of congratulations to her. Your advance dining reservation will have to be scheduled during the hours that divers are available.

Follow dinner by touring The Seas with Nemo and Friends in Future World. In Bruce’s Sub House she can test her shark knowledge with hands-on exhibits. Get a picture of her inside the open-jaw of Bruce the Shark.

I hope your daughter has a special day as an ichthyologist!
