What dates will the Christmas decoration be up at Magic Kingdom this year? When will the Christmas decorations come down at Magic Kingdom this year?

    Hiya Jeff!

Welcome to planDisney! Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort are a treat and I really hope you arrive in time to enjoy it!

The dates for when decorations come up are unknown, but it will most likely be in full swing by the first date of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. November 8, 2024, is the first scheduled holiday party of the year and you will see Magic Kingdom Park in its full holiday regalia when it starts. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will sing its last "boo!" on October 31, 2024. This means that magical elves that I like to call Cast Members will work tirelessly through several nights to get the Parks looking sparkling and cheery between these two parties. I bet some decorations are hidden in plain sight before this date. I have sometimes seen the icicle lights on Cinderella Castle in September! They won't turn on until it is time but they are there.

As for when they come down, the standard timeline has been to see the holiday decorations remain up until the first week or so of January. I visited the last week of December and found all of the lovely decorations still up and then it takes a little time for everything to be magically put away and stored till the next celebration.

Tickets are already on sale for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights, a classy affair at Disney's Hollywood Studios. They always sell out, so secure a spot if you want to enjoy the holidays fully this year. One of the things I am very excited to do this year is tour the Disney Resort Hotels and check out their holiday decorations. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Disney's Wilderness Lodge are my favorite locations for holiday decor. I almost feel like each Resort tries to top the others and it's so festive.

I hope this helps and you have a lovely time!

    Happy Planning!
