Hi! When will 2027 dates for the campsites at Fort Wilderness be available? I thought typically you were able to book 499 days in advance over the phone. We've got all our eggs in the campsite basket, so I'm hoping to be on top of things!

Welcome back to planDisney, Erica! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today. I love that you're aiming for Fort Wilderness! You really feel the original vibes of "The Vacation Kingdom of the World" there, and it sounds like you're really looking forward to that kind of trip, so let's chat about when you can book your stay and how to get prepared for when that reservation window opens.

A few years ago, Disney retired the 499-day room-only booking window, so you can no longer book that far in advance. These days, room-only reservations and vacation packages open at the same time for the upcoming year. Based on recent years, I'd expect 2027 dates to open in the late spring of 2026, most likely mid-May to late May. That's a pattern, not a promise, but it's the best prediction we've got! The moment Disney announces the on-sale date, be ready to book right away.

To stay on top of it, keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog; that's usually the first official place you'll see big booking window news. When the announcement drops, have your preferred dates, site type, and payment method ready so you can move fast. If you'd rather book by phone when the window opens, calling Disney Resort Hotel Reservations is totally fine, just expect hold times to be higher on the first on-sale day. Online booking is often the quickest route when you're ready!

I hope this answers your question, Erica, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
