Hi Sherri!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Due to continuing construction work, the original
Tri-Circle-D Ranch is currently closed, and at this time we do not know the official re-opening date. However, there is some good news, in that the ranch and the activities have moved to a temporary location until it re-opens. So if you were looking forward to enjoying the trail, pony, wagon and carriage rides - you still can! You can find these activities being offered at the barn near the front entrance of the Campgrounds, near to the bus stops. I would definitely recommend that you visit the Front Desk of the Resort for full details of where everything is temporarily located. My friend, and fellow panelist on the Disney Parks Moms Panel,
Kathy, recently visited Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and saw that the new barn is under construction, so it will hopefully re-open in the not-too-distant future. You will find details of an opening date
here when it is announced, and keep your eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official news.
In your question I think you were referring to booking a cabin at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, and this is where all the horse riding activities currently take place. As an alternative location,
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is close by, just along the shore of Bay Lake. The walking trail that connects the two Resorts is currently closed (again due to the same construction) but there is a lovely short boat ride that links the two Resorts.
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World Resort.
