Welcome to our helpful little corner of the internet, Pamela. We're so happy you found us!
Like you, I'm keeping track of all the exciting announcements about the
Walt Disney World Resort (and
Disney Parks and experiences worldwide) that were announced at last August's
D23: The Ultimate Fan Event. And also, like you, I want to make sure I get at least one last visit to
Tom Sawyer Island and the
Rivers of America before construction begins on the exciting new additions to
Magic Kingdom Park. It's going to literally be a whole new landscape, and I can't wait!
At this time, we are unsure of when Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America will close for the upcoming transformation that'll make way for some
Cars-themed attractions.
Disney Parks Blog has assured us that we will have plenty of time to experience Frontierland as it is today before construction "revs into high gear" next year. Stay tuned to
Disney Parks Blog for news and updates as construction plans develop.
Now, while I'm very excited for these
Cars-themed attractions to take front and center stage in Frontierland, I would be lying if I said I wasn't
most excited for
the new Villains land that will be coming to the park. I will admit that I'm a sucker for a good protagonist, especially
a strong heroine, but I
do love to hate the villains in those classic
Disney movies. I can't wait to see which villains will be taking the spotlight in this land, and from the concept art, it looks like
Maleficent's castle is pretty prominent. And since she's the baddest of them all (I mean, who else vows revenge on an infant because she wasn't invited to a party?), I can't wait to see her shine...or glow green, as the case may be. I've been wearing my new Maleficent necklace from
Rocklove Jewelry and just ordered a brand-new Maleficent flannel shirt from
Cakeworthy to hold me over until this mischievous new land opens!
Pamela, get ready to
start your engines, get those
spells and
potions all set, and
reach out again if you have any other questions!
A wondrous future lies before you,
Matt
