Greetings, Nelly, and welcome to planDisney! Your magical adventure is just around the corner – how exciting!
Your trip comes at a great time, Nelly, since the Disneyland Resort just kicked off its
70th Anniversary Celebration. From dazzling entertainment and cheerful decorations to impressive merchandise collections and whimsical treats, it truly lives up to the motto “Celebrate Happy.”
The Anniversary Celebration will continue through summer 2026, though some experiences will pause to make way for seasonal offerings. Your trip will be just before
Halloween Time begins – it returns Friday, August 22, 2025, just after you visit. That means you'll be able to soak in all the anniversary fun!
Nelly, it's hard to call out just one or two things, since there is so much to do and see. So here are a few highlights to get you extra excited for your visit:
- My two favorite nighttime spectaculars are Paint the Night (a dazzling parade with more than one million LED lights) and Wondrous Journeys (which has fireworks on select nights). While I typically head to the area near "it's a small world" to watch these shows, there's something a little extra special about watching Wondrous Journeys in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
- Tapestry of Happiness has been described as a "love letter to Disneyland," and once you see it, you'll understand why. It's an amazing projection show against "it's a small world" that I really enjoyed.
- World of Color Happiness! at California Adventure will have you dancing as you watch, and fans of the Muppets will love the pre-show.
- There is a lot of new merchandise, with distinct themes for each collection. Purchase a Key to Disneyland and discover stations throughout the park to unlock special effects. You will even receive a special surprise once you visit each one.
- Check out the Foodie Guide on the Disney Parks Blog to learn about food and beverage options you might want to try. I've heard a lot of talk about the Celebration Matterhorn Macaroon and the 70th Celebration Macaron, both available at Jolly Holiday.
- Catch the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade for an extra dose of joy, and grab photos with Mickey and his pals in their colorful outfits at Town Square.
Of course,
Halloween Time brings spooky fun to the Disneyland Resort and is also a great time to visit. I enjoy Haunted Mansion Holiday, and there's nothing quite like seeing all the pumpkins and other decorations materialize across the park. However, I'm excited that you'll have a chance to experience all that the 70th Anniversary Celebration has to offer.
Nelly, I hope your trip is filled with smiles and magical moments. If you have any other questions ahead of your trip, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
