Hi there, Elizabeth! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!
As the mom of a child with special needs, one of the things that I love most about
Walt Disney World Resort is that they always go above and beyond to
make the magic accessible to everyone. When I visit the Walt Disney World theme parks with my son who is on the autism spectrum, we utilize
Disability Access Service (DAS). This accommodation is intended for Guests who, due to a disability, cannot wait in a traditional queue environment. DAS has been extremely helpful for my family, and now that Guests have the ability to
pre-register for DAS via a live video chat with a Cast Member, using this accommodation is even more convenient.
When you pre-register for DAS, you will also be given the opportunity to
pre-select up to two experiences per day of your visit (based on availability). These pre-selections are in addition to the DAS return times that you can request throughout the day of your park visit. When you request a DAS return time on the day that you are at the park, you may return to experience that
attraction any time after your given return time. However, your DAS pre-selections work a bit differently. You will be given a one-hour window for each pre-selected experience, and in order to redeem this pre-selected experience, you must arrive within that one-hour time period. These pre-selected experiences function in much the same way as
Disney Genie+ Service Lightning Lanes.
Elizabeth, if you still need to pre-register for DAS or make your DAS Advance selections, you may do so between two and 30 days before your theme park visit. The live video chat is available between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and the person in your travel party who is in need of DAS accommodations must be present during the video chat.
If you have any additional questions as you get ready for your trip, please don't hesitate to ask. We're all ears! See ya real soon!
