Hi, Aime!
Welcome to
planDisney, and thanks for sending us this great
Disneyland Resort question. I’m pleased to tell you that there are indeed services and accommodations available to help
Guests with disabilities as they navigate the theme parks, with the goal of ensuring everyone can have a magical experience with their friends and family members!
The Disability Access Service (DAS) system was designed for Guests who aren’t able to wait in a regular queue due to a physical or cognitive disability. It allows them and their group to receive a return time for attractions based on the current wait time. This and other services to assist disabled Guests continue to be available in the theme parks for most attractions that are utilizing a traditional standby queue. To request use of DAS, please visit City Hall in
Disneyland Park or the Chamber of Commerce in
Disney California Adventure Park to speak to a Guest Relations Cast Member about your specific needs, and be sure to have your valid
theme park ticket and photo ID handy.
Another tip for those visiting the parks with a person with a cognitive disability is to utilize the in-park break areas. If a Guest becomes over-stimulated or needs some down time while exploring Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, several locations are available throughout the resort where they can regroup. To find the break area nearest you, just ask a Cast Member. Some great options are the First Aid stations in both theme parks and the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure Park.
I hope this information helps, Aime. Please feel free to send us any other questions you have as your pixie-dusted planning continues!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
