I use the DAS pass when at Disney. I read somewhere that only 6 people in your party can be on it. Is that true? I have an upcoming trip next year with 8 people (3 of us adults, and 5 children under 9). Are there exceptions made for this sort of thing?

    Hi Katherine,

Disney is fabulous at catering to all different types of people. I think they have shined in the way they have adapted the park systems to be accessible for guests with disabilities. As someone who has utilized the Disability Access Service (DAS) at Disney World many times, I can say it is a game changer!

DAS is currently limited to the person needing the accommodations plus 5 other guests in their party. This will limit the amount of people that you can reserve return times for to 6 in total. You are welcome to stop by Guest Services when you arrive to see if they are willing to make an exception. These are only done on a case-by-case basis and will likely need supervisor approval. In my experience exceptions are normally only made for immediate family members. If you have more than one person in your part who qualifies for DAS then each qualifying person may have up to 5 additional guests ride with them.

One way around this is to purchase Genie+ for two of your party members and try to get the timing of the Lightning Lane selections to line up with your DAS return times. You can also negotiate who is riding each ride since everyone may not have the same ride preferences and just have the 5 people who want to join your DAS party member go on each ride. This is a great option on some of the thrill rides that everyone may not want to ride.

    Happy Planning
