Hiya Karen,
Welcome back to planDisney! We really appreciate you visiting us for help with your planning questions and are happy to be helpful! Karen, I can definitely relate to being stressed about running late. As a child of a retired Air Force officer, being early is on time, and being on time is running late. But as a mom of a five-month-old, being on time is a minor miracle!
That said, let’s see if I can hopefully bring down your stress hormones a tad. First things first, take a deep breath. To get from
Jungle Cruise to
Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen, in my experience, is a less than a 5-minute walk. So if you get on the ride at 3 pm, you should be able to make it to your reservation before your dinner reservation with some time to spare. But if things aren’t going according to plan, Cast Members will generally honor your reservation up to 15 minutes after the initial time. If you are anything like me, that fact is comforting, but you still feel a little uneasy. So let me share my tip for these types of situations. What I like to do when I am worried I will be late is to head to the location earlier in the day (for you, maybe that is on your way to Jungle Cruise) and let the Cast Member at the podium know the situation. Typically they make a little note in their system that you might be running behind, or they can see if it is possible to move your reservation to a later time if available. This should allow you to enjoy the punniest ride in the park without checking your clock the entire time.
I hope this was helpful, Karen. Please come back and see us if you need anything!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
