Can we use DAS and Genie+ at the same time?

Hiya Marybel - welcome to planDisney!

I'm so glad you stopped by to ask your question, and I'm even more excited for you to have a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation this weekend! Winter just seems to want to stick around here in Ohio and I could definitely use some of that magical Florida sunshine you'll be enjoying!

I was actually able to use the new Disability Access Service (DAS) alongside the Disney Genie+ service on a recent trip, so I'm happy to share my experiences with you. The short answer is a resounding YES, you can use both services at the same time - they are completely independent. Doing so is a great way to experience even more of your favorite attractions during a day at the parks!

If you pre-registered for DAS and were able to make two selections per day using the new DAS Advance Planning option, you're already started! These selections are also independent of the normal DAS selections you'll make once you are in the theme park. You will make these normal DAS selections by tapping on the Disability Access Service (DAS) tile in the menu of your My Disney Experience Mobile App (tap the icon in the lower right corner of your screen to access the menu). If you've also added Genie+ to your tickets for the day, you'll be able to make your first Lightning Lane selection starting at 7 a.m. You can continue to make both DAS and Lightning Lane selections for available attractions throughout the day - as soon as you use one, you'll be able to make another!

To be completely honest, for our day I found that we didn't really end up needing Genie+, but that completely depends on your crew, including what attractions and experiences you want to hit, and how much energy you have to make it through the day! We found that the DAS return times gave us the right amount of time to rest, grab a snack, and do some shopping in between attractions. For someone like me, it was definitely welcome to have a break between some of the more thrilling attractions!

If you're spending multiple days in the Theme Parks and didn't already add Genie+ when you purchased your tickets, I'd recommend trying it out on your first park day. You'll get a feel for whether it's a great addition for your crew, or if your DAS selections are all that you need in the coming days. One last tip - if you do run into any challenges, don't fret, just locate a Guest Experience Team Cast Member! They're usually under a blue umbrella, sometimes with matching blue shirts, and they will make sure your magic gets back on track!

I hope this information is helpful - please let me know if there are any other questions we can help answer!
