Hi Darcie! My husband and I are planning a trip to WDW in September without children and we were hoping to book a dinner show. Which one would you recommend: Hoop-De-Doo, Backyard BBQ, or Spirit of Aloha? I'm not worried about food as much as entertainment

An adults only September getaway?  I'm jealous!  Unfortunately, I have not had the chance to visit all three of these dinner shows so I can't give a fair opinion on which is best.  Hopefully I can help you narrow it down though.  If I were you, I would rule out the Backyard BBQ only because it seems to be the most kid-centric of the three.  The characters there have a rootin' tootin' time kickin' up their heels with a ton of tot-sized Mickey fans.

I can also tell you that I have yet to talk to someone who doesn't like the Hoop-De-Doo.  The slapstick comedy routine is a huge hit with guests of all ages.  The cast also does a lot of audience participation which keeps the entire place in stitches throughout the show.  If the two of you will be celebrating a special occasion (ie., birthday or anniversary) you may want to visit this show because you may get some extra special attention.

If, on the other hand, you are looking for something a little less comedic, I'd opt for the Spirit of Aloha show.  I've not been to this one before but lots of my friends on the Moms Panel have and they give it high marks.

With all that said, I think you should choose what kind of experience you and your hubby are looking for and choose accordingly.  If you want a fun evening full of laughs, opt for the Hoop-De-Doo.  But if you want something a tad more reserved, the Spirit of Aloha is a great choice.  I hope you have a spectacular time whichever you choose!  :)

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
